On November 1st, 2007 S. P. Petroleum installed  Metro Atlanta's first E-85 pump. This first E-85 pump offers a blend of ethanol and gasoline.

This day marked an historic occasion when this Smyrna Texaco station began dispensing E-85 fuel.

This also marks a critical step toward the region's embrace of alternative fuel.

"Between 7 and 9 a.m., owners of flex-fuel vehicles can fill up for 85 cents a gallon. Lines may not be too long. Only 31,000 Atlanta-area motorists own flex-fuel cars and trucks" said Dan Chapman of the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

On hand were several representatives from various media and energy organizations. The event went largely unnoticed by the television media but all in all the day was a real success. Since then S. P. Petroleum has installed several other E-85 pumps.
